OMG Squeaky just chirped!

Bless her she just spent the past minute chirping!:))

It was kind of weird but so sweet! She was just lying down and chirping away. I went to check that everything was ok and she scarpered and chirped a bit more in her house...

Does anyone know what chirping means?
 
There are differing opinions on this, some say happiness, others say sadness or stress.
None of mine have ever done it but 1 of my OH's nephews piggies does it every night at veggie time, i looked after them in august & she did it here too so i don't see it's sadness or stress with her. :)
 
Prince Harrys done it, last time it was in response (I think) to a fire engine hurtling up the road:o
 
I've heard all of mine do it when they first lived together. They looked pretty happy, I think it was a sign that things were different and they were sussing it all out! x
 
One of mine (The Doctor) does it occasionally, always at about 3 in the morning.
He never seems distressed at all when he does it, so we subscribe to the popular theory that he is attempting to call The Mothership.
 
Only ever heard one of mine doing it and that was Iggy but she didn't look in distress at all.:)
 
Mine have done it a few times now, always about five o'clock in the morning. It's such a beautiful sound and I don't think it means they're sad, I think it's happiness or contentment.
 
A few weeks ago, Saffron decided to chirp away just as I was falling asleep. Very loud and shrill. Wonderful sound but so loud at such a late hour...I had to shut my bedroom door so's she didn't wake the toddlers!

The circumstances which started her off? Another pig (Gwen) got to the water bottle before her. As Gwen started drinking, Saff stepped back and just started chirping. Went on for about 5 mins even after Gwen disappeared.
 
They must go into some sort of trance when they are doing it! SHe did it again today for no reason and i answered her back but she kept on going :))
