I had some of my rescue piggies out in the run as such a nice day. 2 boys were in the run, i go out to put them away and there is blood everywhere. Pools of it, clumps of it there was loads. It was coming from one of the piggies, i could see all this blood but couldn't part the fur to see deeper as he was in so such pain. My firstb thought was fighting but the other one was clean and had no blood anywhere near his mouth etc.
Anyway had to call the emergency vet out, rushed him straight over there, they had to sedate him as he was in so much pain. they shaved his fur and said it was a bite wound, you could also see other little bites that hadn't broken the skin. They had to give him a general to clean and stitch it properly.
He is now sleeping at he vets, he is drugged up to the eyebalsl on morphine etc. He is 3 and a half so not a young one.
My real concern now is what has bitten him as covinced it wasn't his mate. The run has bars that are about an inch apart.
Plase send loads of vibes for Bill, he has been through an awful time. I am also quite concerned about the cost as the call out itself was over £50, so god knows with the op etc what it will be!
