OMG LADIES ITS OFFICIAL- I AM SITTING IN MY LOUNGE WITH TWO GORGEOUS GIRLIES IN THEIR NEW HOME

I'M OFFICAILLY A GUINEA PIG OWNER :(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|)

They are currently settling in and are running around the cage and eating and drinking, So eager to hold them but going to waite until tomorrow-i got lots of cuddles just before i bought them :)

The lady i bought them off of mentioned about buying some treatment to put on to protect them from fleas and mites etc when they are out in the garden, and to put it on them every couple of weeks-is this correct? What would be good to get?

Also as they are a lil nervous atm will they be ok if i put my hoover on tomorrow or should i leave it a few days..
Also if they get dry skin on there ears or body she recommended using sudacrem to put a lil on-will they be ok to that?

AAAAHHHHHHHH SO HAPPPY I HAVE MY GIRLIES XXXXXXXXXXX

Yay welcome to guinea pig ownership :)
Your guineas skin shouldn't get dry, normally if its flaky/sore it's something else other than just 'dry skin'. I'm sure they should be fine.
Good luck with everything!

I use sudocream on my piggies if they get dry bits on ears and /or crispy nipples... It works really well.

I also use a spot-on treatment for mites etc. I think it maybe lasts 4 weeks. It's just like the ones for dogs and cats but not so strong. Only use the one for Rabbits and Guinea pigs though as the cat/dog ones are slightly different and could make them ill.

Congratulations on your new girlies.
