When I went to bed last night I said good night to the pigs (as you do!) and realised there were no poos in Gerry's house. I lifted all the hay up, had a good old search, nothing! I checked him to see if he was impacted, nothing. He was still happy munching hay, drinking and wandering about, he even did a little popcorn. I sat up for an hour still no poos.

As he seemed fine in himself and not bloated I went to bed. Couldn't sleep so got up again a few hours later and checked, still nothing but he was still fine. I did the same a few hours later and the same.
I phoned the vets at 8am when they opened and she said as long as he is still fine in himself to not worry but if he stops eating bring him in.
I asked her if some probiotic would help and she said it can't hurt so I gave him that. 1 poo and hour later.
He's now done 5 poos in total and it's 1.30pm. I put him back in his house at around 5pm last night after his bath so that's a long time not to be pooing regularly.
I'm not sure what to do now, should I take him to the vets anyway or just keep an eye on him? My usual vet is on a course and the other one is in surgery so I can't get an opinion from them at the moment so I've come to my knowledgable friends!

I've weighed him and he's lost 62grams in a week which is a lot for him.
He didn't want his kale or celery yesterday morning so today I didn't give him kale incase it was bloat. He ate his cucumber and lettuce but has left the celery until now when I've just given him another dose of probiotic.

What a worry he is!

He had a mild case of bloat a last year but he stopped eating then so obviously I took him straight to the vets, this is different though.

What shall I do?

I'd take him in because I'm so paranoid! Are the poos he has done normal in shape and consistency? I'm sure you know how vital it is that their wee bowels keep moving. The vet can give them medication to kick start their bowels, Thumper had to have some at one point and it really helped. Also, it's worth getting things checked out in case there is an underlying issue xox

Hi Thanks for your replies. Yes I've got fibreplex, he had some this morning and again at lunch time and that's got him pooing although still not a lot. Poos are normal although a little small.
He's ok but I can tell he's not 100%. He's eating but snacking on the carrot piece I gave him rather than demolishing it. He's eating his cardboard tube and box more than usual.
I'm really wishing I'd taken him in this afternoon anyway but the vet wasn't worried if he's eating and still moving about. I felt like I was over reacting if I took him in anyway.
I've just called the local vets who have an emergency service so I know I can go there if I need to, otherwise I'm going to take him first thing in the morning to be checked out just in case. Never wished to see a poo mountain as much as I do know!

I've given him 2ml of gripe water which I think has done the trick. The poop machine is back in action and making up for lost time!

oooooooooh no how's Gerry today ?
Good on you, you picked up on the fact he was just not himself!
WELL DONE xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hoping that he's now back to pooping G man again x)
is he still munching on all his food?
Katie maybe if he's still not 'quite right' be best for a check on toofies ?

HUGS AND WHEEEEEEEEEEEKS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

He's absolutely fine this morning, came charging out wheeking for his breakfast (no kale, brocolli or cabbage just incase) you'd never know he wasn't feeling right yesterday!
His eyes look much brighter as well.

Glad little man is feeling better - don't they realise that they almost give us coronaries at times :...:(|)
I am obsessed with checking my piggies poops - I say it's necessary, my family think I should be sectioned when they catch me peering closely into the litter trays ;)
