I am building a 3x4 c&c cage. I have someone who will sew me a 3x4 liner but someone else who said that might be very large and hard to manage and to do two 2x3 liners instead. Does anyone have experience with a 3x4 liner

I made my own liners and have 2.5x8 c&c cage. I use two 2.5x4 c&c size liners. They are quite large, mine are made with wadding and so the bonus is that whilst they are large they are light and dry super fast.
Depending on what yours will be made with I think that will help decide. Having smaller liners isn’t a bad thing as they will be easier to brush hay and fur off, wash and then switch if one is more dirty?

I use a lot of smaller liners in the cage in high traffic areas, so my big liners only need washing once a week on cage clean day.

Thanks! They will be fleece with a layer of two of absorbent layers inside. Do you find you can lift your 2.5x4 liner up to dump in a garbage can or must you stick to sweeping out that size?

I can easily lift it, but that may be because they are really light with just the wadding. For my full cage clean I lift it up over the cage whilst standing on a foot stool (mostly because I’m so short!) and I use a brush to sweep all the hay, poo and fur off onto the cage floor, then I sweep it up from there.

During the day when I’m cleaning I use a dust pan and a cat poop scoop to scrap the hay and mess into the dustpan. Its quite effective, think I saw it suggested on one of Skinnypigs1 videos on YouTube!

I agree with PigglePuggle, I used to use larger liners but could only ever wash one at once, now I can get 3 in a wash bag in my machine.

I would recommend smaller liners as well, I have a 2X4 sized liner (it is pretty thick one) and it kills my arms when I am sweeping it!
