Hi everyone..

I'm looking for somewhere new to buy hay for the boys. I normally order hay from timothyhay.co.uk however I've found the last two bags I've ordered to have shorter stalks and also seems to be more dusty. I know the quality can change depending on the time of year but I want to try somewhere new for them.

Also somewhere where you get a good amount for a good deal.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thank you x

Hi. Sport_billy has a very comprehensive guide to hay on the guinea pig care section under food.

I am always happy to hear of members recommendations of good online hay suppliers.

I use naturesownpets and haybox. Naturesownpets tends to be shorter than haybox, but is softer. They’re from very different parts of the country so I imagine both will change through the seasons. My pigs love them both and they’re both organic and dust extracted.

Funnily enough i was going to order from haybox. Then I worked out that it’s a lot more expensive than the Timothy Hay uk website.

I’ve used nature’s own before and really liked them till I found the Timothy hay page. I’m thinking of going back to it, can’t remember why I stopped using it.

I've ordered from hay and straw many times. I tend to buy the huge bag of ings hay. I still buy from them if I don't have time to go to the place I pick up my bales from

I have used hay and straw many times and found the quality very good.

I liked the hay from haybox but it's not cheap is it?
I buy the 10kg meadow hay, which works out at under £1.90 a kg. It is more expensive than naturesownpets but it does cut down my plastic consumption, which is nice.

Iv used dustfreehay.co.uk once but wasn’t overly impressed.

Just placed an order on nature’s own. 4 big bags of hay plus a bag of forage for £23, works out a lot cheaper than Timothy hay UK. That’s 14kg worth of hay :)
