Only Eat Oxbow Timothy.

Hi.

My two girls only seem to like Oxbow Western Timothy hay. I have tried lots of different hays and they just refuse all day to eat it. I can only get the Timothy in one pet shop and worry in case they are out of stock.

This week the dreaded happened no big bags. I bought a small bag and also a bag of Oxbow orchard grass hay which looked lovely and green.

Tried the orchard hay and just turned their nose up. I have mixed it with a little Timothy and they are showing more interest but not a lot.

Will they eventually start eating it because they are hungry?

Worried they are not getting enough.

Advice please.

Mine have their favourites....oxbow orchard grass being the fave...followed by oxbow timothy. I think variety is the way i get round this...i mix 2-3 hay types in hay bags at a time. Some piggies may never like diff hay types as much as others...but i usually find when they get hungry they will eat it. Try mixing 2-3 together at a time...it makes they hay last longer and also encourages they to try other types. Try experimenting a little :-)

Could you buy online? The Hay Experts sell it.

Mine have their favourites too, Alfalfa King Timothy hay especially but not when it is a stalky harvest, they only like it when it is soft.
