Honestly i thought it was not going to be good....... my girl really wasn't very well at all and i felt physically sick :)>>>

Right.........Onyx is being a wonderful patient eating her softened pellets and mushy mix (pellets in water and some probiotics too)
I finally got hold of Traci and she's organising some critical care......of course you can't get that from the emergency vets either mallethead:a19:
Late last night i cleaned out their house and when i put them back in, she went up to the bowl of pellets and mix and put her nose in and nibbled on a little bit of the chopped hay.... i was just about dancing!
She fed really well at 2am, ate all her mush and pellets and then some green spaghetti (i was brave and went outside at night..)
She got down to 1060g on saturday, today when i left for work (i left late and i'm going home early) she was 1110g x)
 
She had her first taste of 'fine grind' CC this afternoon.......SHE LOVED IT!
I did it as per packet 1 CC to 3 parts water..... next batch i'll try it a bit thicker and see if i can make it into little balls to pop into her mouth.

She asked for food as i walked into their room this afternoon.......... weight 1090-1100g

Trying to decide how much and which veggies to offer to her ?
 
Oh that sounds very promising :)

My Toffee (RIP) used to nom the mixture straight from a bowl after getting her teeth done (or after an operation) she liked it so much :)) I think I did make it quite thick though.....

It's a very different mix to what i used to feed Dukey (RIP) i deliberately got this rather than one with fruits in it, in case i ever have to use for Velvet.

I did put it on the spoon and put in front of her but she didn't get the hint to lick it off the spoon......i might just try some on a little plate.

Darling Poppet (Debbie's girl RIP) used to eat hers from the cup that Debbie would mix it in x)

That's good to hear shes doing well, and I hope that it means Mummy's feeling a little bit better too. I keep checking in to see how the two of you are doing, and its so nice to get a bit of good news :)
The girls are still wheeking away on Oynx's behalf, and I'm sending healing vibes for your nerves, one worrying Mummy to another x>>

there's quite a few of us worried mum's at the moment :(
It's good tho that whee are all encouraging each other it really does help x)
 
She ate well overnight (me is like a zombie at moment LOL) and then asks for greeen spaghetti cause she's knows that's the routine :)
Still on 1110g this morning, she asked for some veggies so i allowed her a small amount of silverbeet, but then whisked her out for her CC and green spaghetti before leaving for work.
I've noticed she's eating hay tho i'm not sure how much.
Miss Velvet has gained some weight me thinks if Onyx leaves anything she's charging in at great speed rolleyes so i'll have to get her exercising more and keep her separated whilst Onyx is eating so i can supervise amounts more.
 
Only just spotted this thread Glynis, really hope Oynx is ok.
 
Great to hear she's munching on veggies ..... isnt it lovely how Velvet wants to help her out with that though ..... lol .... Hope you manage to get some rest though ... whee dont want a zombie-glynis :))

Set back

SIGH i offered a small amount of baby carrot yesterday and within about 1/2hr she was hunched up and not looking happy...... i felt awful for her, but the little darling so enjoyed something different.

She didn't really want to feed during the night but whee managed, but this mornings feed took an hour so hence late to work! She's not happy with the CC now, so this afternoon i'm going to give her some CC and also softened pellets, if i slightly soften them and pop them in her mouth she's happy to eat them. Also not eating as much grass either and it's really hard to judge just how much hay she has.

Oh I am sorry to hear Onyx and you have had a set back, you've got to think about it like a long road, and you've just hit a hill, it's hard right now, but keep on working your way up it and then the two of you will have a great time sailing down the other side. In the mean time we're still thinking about the two of you every day and keeping up with the healing wheeeeks
