Fantistic news Glynis, so often we hear such sad news on this part of the forum. It's nice to get some positive news. So pleased for you that Onyx is getting better. x x x
 
Since coming back onto the forum I have missed this somehow :(
Just read through the whole thread, sooo pleased she is doing well.

embarassing......i wrote 1.0ml.....UGH it was 0.1ml

I got her down to 0.05ml and then yesterday morning was her last dose..... she's now 24hrs and i'm really hoping when i get home she's eaten well and having no pain issues!

Her weight this morning was 1090g i'm so proud of her x)
She demands food everytime i go past now...... i LOVE IT!

They had butt baths, pedi and manicures on the wheekend, Onyx had a dreadlock in her butt hair (i couldn't afford to bathe whilst unwell and brushing wouldn't shift it UGH) so that had to be cut out.



on a note tho......i did a urine test and it came up with some traces, so i'm thinking i'll have to ease off the cranberry and up the Patrick Juice (barley)

Sorry I'm not able to help with the cranberry/barley question so I will leave that to someone who knows what they're talking about ;)

Good to hear she is doing so well Glynis.

Re the cranberry versus barley not much help from me either I'm afraid. How much liquid are you managing to get into her now Glynis? If you have been using the cranberry for some time it might be worth swapping to the barley just to see if it makes a difference. If her bladder is still a little sore the barley may help.

Sounds a good amount Glynis, maybe try more days of barley water to see if it makes a difference, I think the theory is by its viscous nature it coats the lining of the bladder and helps stop irritation etc. Worth a try - keep up the good work :)

Fresh barley water this morning, which she lapped up 12-13mls for me :) She'll get the rest when i get home from work, then i'll make up another batch for later on at playtime.

She hit the magical 1105g at 2am this morning but back down to 1095g when i left for work, 10g down is ok now tho (when she was really ill every gram lost was so hard to get back)
 
Onyx is back to her pigself again!

Well folks it took nearly 6 mths but it's been worth it!
She hasn't had critical care for a week (i had to wean her off it as she didn't cope very well without......) her poops are well formed and she's not having any problems with foods.
I still keep a very strict eye on her of course!
When i feed Velvet now thru the night i pickup a very sleepy Onyx give her a cuddle, weigh her and then she has some sips of probiotics or pearl barley at the time :)
