I'm really sorry for your loss... You and your pigs have had a really hard time lately! Try to think of the snuggles and popcorns and wheeks for veggies. It must be hard having seen her end that way, but most of your time together was happy, wasn't it?

Mann, so unfair... animals should NEVER get sick or die!

That is so terrible. 8...Poor piggie. Hope the babies will settle with their foster mum. So sorry for your loss xx

Oh Claire, I am so sorry to hear she didn't make it. You and the vet did everything you could to save her. Huge hugs to you, when you look at her little ones try to find characteristics they share, try to remember the happy times. xx

Rest well, sweet Jenny. xx

Aww. That is just so sad and a truly awful thing for you to have to witness.

You did everything you could for this poor little mite (her and the babies would most certainly have died if you hadn't intervened), and more importantly, you weren't the one who got her into this mess in the first place; you were just picking-up the pieces.

I am so sorry that Jenny didn't make it - you did your utmost to give her a chance against all the odds and you still have a wonderful legacy in terms of all her babies being alive.

Sadly, it is not easy to forget that searing memory, but try and do your best for the babies now! That is what Jenny would like you to do most, I think.

BIG HUG again

wiebke gave me a link to explain what impaction is and how to clean it on guinealynx was reading it to check there wasn't anything about puss! :(

Hopefully someone will be on too advise soon!

You would not expect to find pus as part of an impaction. What you are probably finding is evidence of the soft, first pass pellets.

its green and when opening the sack/anus it sqirts out green lots of it and smells but not like anormal cleaning impaction smells like and there is still a hard lump up there which looks brown put looks part of the sack the green stuff comes out of this

Green pus doesn't sound like impaction, but here is the link to http://www.guinealynx.info/impaction.html

Best of luck for the poor boy!

my hubby took him the vets tonight and its a massive infection the vet has put him on 0.5mls baytril twice a day and also had some saline aerosol spray and i have to clean it out 5 times a day for 10 days god it is so bad but he seems so well in him self he must have had this for such a long time and been in so much pain there was a lot of hair poo and mixed up grease which went rock hard when i removed it the infection which had built up behind it started to come out i have to open the sack 5 times a day now and squeeze it a little to empty the infection then wipe it and spray this saline spray on it the vet said it was so bad that antibiotics a lone would not clear it by its self poor poor thing so madening how people can neglect there animals...animals mean so much to me,,my 3 year old daughter is profoundly deaf and she cant speak just like animals cant so some one has to speak up for them and help just like i have to with my daughter keeley..
