Today was the last Sunday of the month, and therefore the day of the local small animal auction. We tend to go when we can to keep an eye on things, and last time we went things were the best we've seen - all the guineas were in good condition and had food and hay in the boxes.

Today, not so good. And somehow, I ended up with ...

Barry Twoquid - a lovely young male rabbit that no-one else wanted.

He's now settling in. I don't have rabbits - well, I do now! He will stay here as long as my allergies are ok with him, if not I will be looking for a loving home for the gorgeous fella!

Odd day all round really! Will post pics of the pigs next...

Awwww! What a sweetie! Hope he settles in OK. Good for you for going along to make sure that everyone is well cared-for!

Pollie.

aah he is lovely i did not even know small animal auctions existed!

just stop it Sophie! now in my head i have rehomed billions of your guinea pigs and a rabbit xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Sophie, what a sweetie he is! I hope your allergies are ok and you are able to keep him! xx

He is B-E-A-UTIFUL!

If your allergies do flare up....I live in Essex (not far from Norfolk). So once we have our bigger shed set up...I'd consider taking him off your hands if you were happy.

Thank you, it's always good to have a back up plan! So far so good - he's settling in ok and seems friendly enough, if a little confused!

auction furries.

i get them from auctions also, although just recently all gp's have seemed in good condition, i think its best to take ones in bad condition as no one will take them for a start, i'm glad there are others keeping an eye on the auctions, i have 3 regular ones i check when i can, rabbits arent my favourite little dudes to be honest *** they bite me all the time but i wouldnt leave one there in bad condition but gp's get priority.:))

Bless Barrytwoquid - he's a real cutie x)

Cant wait to meet him.

Looks like you got yourself a lovely Lionhead Cross there. (I'm more of a rabbit person, but I'm sure my son & this forum will soon change that!)
How could no one want him? He looks so cute.

You might have to get someone else to brush him, but you should be ok. Fingers crossed and hopefully he doesnt bite you!

xx

I've dosed myself up on antihistamines, and we'll see what happens! He's quite friendly, a bit matted, I'll have a go at his mop later.

I don't think he's fully grown yet

You should meet my lot they'll soon change your mind. I have 8 and none of them have ever bitten.

I'd agree with Lionhead cross as he looks to big to be a lionhead. He's got lovely colouring, I love magpies. His mane doesn't look too bad, at least its only a single so hopefully wont set your allergies off too badly.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, he's a lionhead cross.

His black and white colouring is called magpie.

He's only got a mane on his head (i.e a single). I have a double maned lionhead (he looks like he's wearing a skirt as well) who is very very fluffy. Compaired to him, brushing your little man would be a breeze.

Also when I say he's too big, my lionhead is tiny, only 1397g. They are a fairly small breed. Your little lad looks like he'll be a medoum size bun.

ok?

stargrrlclair, why would you want her allergies to flare up? If you want him that much then get a nice rabbit that is nearly the same. that way you can have your own and her allergies wont flare up.

Hope your allergies don't flare up!

Claire said what she did in jest. She doesn't really want Sophie suffering!

Hi Bumpisacutie,

Just checking you understand it's a joke. It's the same as your dad wanting to take Delilah home in his pocket.
