Since losing my ed last week have been very down in the dumps, went to P@H yesterday to get some hay and stuff (not a great deal of choice for pets shops in cornwall i'm afraid) Don't usually shop there preferring my local one but i was passing and needed some stuff, anyway, had a look at the piggies, very tiny baby ones very cute and then walked to the back of the store to look at the fish. At the back all on his own was one little piggy looking v depressed in a tiny run with hardly anything in it. i was really worried as he was just laid in the middle all puffed up with his eyes closed. I got the assistant and asked and she said oh he's ok, he's too big now no one wants him thats why we've got him at the back! so i had a cuddle and she basically said i'll knock money off if you have him and throw in a bag of food we need to get rid of him. On principal i thought it waas a bit shocking but i took him as i have the space and can give him a lot of love and care.

He's settled quite well, he's in the room with the girls (as i have no boars!) but sectioned off with cubes very securely. He seems a lot happier and has been running around and eating a little (still not as much as i'd hoped though) and he hasn't yet made any noises or responded to the other piggies in any way. going ot be keeping a close eye on him and giving him lots of cuddles. They said they think he is 15 weeks old but i#m not so sure as he is pretty big.

Now just got to decide what to do...neutering or a friend....... Its been great to read through peoples experiences of neutering on the board. so glad i found this place!

Awww, poor fella :)

Got a name for him? Piccies?

I would give him a bit of time on his own to get used to you first, also you said that he's by the girls? Can he see them?

No name as yet, piccies will follow at some point!

He's got no problem with being picked up and cuddled. He can see the girls and hear them and they are quite curious about him and got extremely excited when he popped his head out the house!

thats great news hope he settles in really well bless his heart how can he not be wanted he waited for you to come along i think :smitten:

Well done! I can't wait to see some pigtures and hear his name. The fact that they didn't even have him in the front with the others is amaing. Poor little thing!

Out of interest, was he in an 'Adoption centre'? As that's the only thing I can think of where the cage would be completely separate from the other guineas! Unless they have some weird layout i've not seen before ;D

Aww the poor little thing. Wonder how long he'd been on his own. He's landed on his feet though! Can't wait to see pics :D
