Hi all!,:)p i want to ask as many people's opinion about weather i should up grade my currant cages to some multi story, breeder style hutches with ramps connecting the three levels. Both my parents say that what i have currently is better for the guinea pigs because they have a more airy and open cage with no roof or lid but i think that the guinea pigs would like the extra space and enjoy the ramps.

Now for th pics!8:)

this is my shed which is 6'X6'

this is my current cage set up (its one big 'L' shape with a divide because the two pairs dont get along)

and finaly this is one of the two hutches i am considering buying

So should i either stick with the 1 story L shape cage
(each cage is roughly 13/14 square feet)

OR

Have two of those 3 level huches inside the shed at each side?
(all together the three levels are 24 square feet)

What do you think?/ :Ayociexp113:

Personally if it were my shed i'd extend the pen on the back to the other wall, and build a new pen of the same size on the floor, with a little hay loft, and make them a foot deeper or so deeper. As i am more partial to a large single level rather than lots of space spread over a few.

The only reason my shed has hutches as it's smaller than yours and i have 7 piggies ...

I think what you've got now is really nice :) personally I'd stick with what you've got.

I like what you have, too!

Coconut, i LOVE your avatar!

I like the L shape your parents are right its more space and more ventiliation. Why not extend the L round the 3rd side of the shed so its more of a * shape .

Thanks!

Thanks for everyone’s input! Now I've considered it, I also like what i have now! But i will be adding a second story to the cage on the left but with hinges so i can lift it up to clean and access underneath it.
