As said above many factors are at play. I have had pigs at the age of 5 and 6 have surgery with no problems at all. It all depends on their general condition, the underlying problem needing surgery and the vets experience. Hope it goes well
I know of several members on here who have had older guinea pigs do very well after surgery.
As others have said, a lot depends on the guinea pig, the operation and also the expereince of the vet performing the surgery.
Thanks, he is in great condition. I have looked after him very well. Now I know he will make it. He has had an operation before and was fine. I am very settled now.
Thanks
