Brief recap took Poppy to the local vets who diagnosed ovarian cysts with a large lump On her tummy/bottom and cysts on her mammory glands was told to bring her back when we wanted her put to sleep. After speaking to the forum went to another vet an hours drive away who said she could operate but couldn’t spay and remove the lump as it was too risky so we went for the spay which was done yesterday. Poppy has been eating normally since she got back and seems ok. The vet gave me pain killers and antibiotics to use today but not sure if I should give her them regardless. Her wounds are clean and tidy and her appetite is good. She was also rumble strutting a bit last night which I thought might stop with the spaying. I should be able to speak to the vet later just wondered if I could draw on an anyone’s expertise.
 
The vet also said if we were really lucky the lumps may decrease in size I just hope they don’t get any bigger
 
If I remember correctly I think my Fuzzy was still a bit hormonal after her spay for a while. I would give the Metacam as it will deal with any inflammation and the antibiotics are to ward off any infection so I would give those too. How many days worth have they given you?

There’s barely any the bottom of the bottles I would say four days at the most. It said once a day but after reading on the forum I’m going for half the dose twice a day. Have given her the first dose before - not sure how successful it was , it should be easier when I’ve got some help later. I watched the video earlier of a very well behaved piggy sitting nicely while getting it’s mouth held open. Not Poppy think high speed reversing and squirming while I’m trying not to bust her stitches. Thanks for your good wishes x
 
I would ask the vet for further pain killers to give if you are running out, to keep her pain free

I agree, she needs pain relief for a bit longer. It gets easier over time getting the meds in but I know it can be difficult.
