Dougie is 4 months old now and is starting to feel quite chunky. He weighs 811grams, is this on the boarder of him becoming overweight? I don't over feed them at all as Cookie is the perfect size and has the same amount of veg. Just want to settle my mind:-)

I can't say much about weights I'm afraid (all my piggies are quite petite, my only boy is 920g, girls at 890g and 830g), but every piggie is different!
Have you been weighing your piggies regularly? Is it a rapid weight gain or consistent? x

I think that sounds about right, i mean every pig is different but it doesn't sound anything to worry about it. You may find his weight slows down for a bit, he might have had a growth spurt. My youngest two are 11 months and 10 months and they both weigh between 1kg and 1.100kg :)

it's hard to tell if piggies are over weight because it has alot to do with size of the piggies, some are quite short and fat others long and thin, but from what i've heard/seen there is always one piggie who eats a little more, in my pair Bentley is the lovely athletic looking piggy who's nice and slim where as Chester is the fat chubby one, i think this is normal to be honest.
I heard somewhere they should be able to lift there belly off the ground if they aren't to fat or something (:

Thanks for all the comments. Dougie is a short chunky pig at the moment, but i will weigh him every week to see how rapid his putting on weight. I think its because i compare him to Cookie who's long and slender, although he does have his lovely squishy belly!:)

At that age, he's still growing. Boys tend to be bigger than girls. There's a wide range of normal as far as weight goes... one of my tiny little girls maxed out at about 960 g when full grown, but my other two piggies are much larger, and all are females.

Dont worry too much, your piggie is still growing, but as others have said and i agree that 800g is around the right weight. Keep feeding as normal as they are still growing i wouldnt advise limiting their diet too much. When they are 12-18 months then they will be fully grown and you can consider more about diet restriction if you are still worried about any of your pigs being a little chunky, but honestly, i would worry at the moment.

x.
