I can't even think of a relevant title. Please read this topic and please don't jump to conclusions! :(

Well basically, I am going to pet show in a few months time, and there will be lots of other guineas there. I am taking one of my own pigs to enter in a few rounds. I am just worried that I may lose my pig. Of course I am going to keep him close and not let him out of my sight at all, but sometimes accidents and the unknown can happen! I wanted a simple and safe way to be able to tell my guinea from others if he ever got separated from me.
I was wondering if it would be safe and plausible to paint one of his back nails a bright/distinguishable colour? just so that I could identify him in case of accidents! I wouldn't leave the paint on, once we're home I'll take the paint off. Is there any safe nail paint I can use that won't hurt my pig? Or can you think of something else.
I do realize this must sound so silly but I want my pig to be super safe !

According to the rules, this forum does not support pedigree showing or talk of showing other than fun or charity shows in support of rescue where owners can stay next to their piggies and are encouraged to only take those that they trust can cope with the general hubbub.

Do you really want to put your guinea pig under all that stress?
PS: In pedigree shows, guinea pigs are given numbers anyway for identification.

Here are the forum rules; please always take the time to read them before you join any online place to avoid unpleasant experiences! https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/pages/terms-and-rules/

She asked people not to jump to conclusions.

..the show is for fun/charity

Thanks for making that clear. Usually, you should be able to stay with close by with your piggy during fun shows, so there won't be any problem.
