Hi everyone I haven't posted here for a while for various reasons but I need some opinions/advice on what to do.
my eldest G pig Fudgey passed away last Monday of old age related illnesses he was 7 1/2. he lived side by side with my other boy (his son) mis sexed by vet>> babies) I also have girls in the shed. I really don't know what to do now.
I really don't want to go down the route of a baby boar as I know there can be probs in puberty etc also I don't know whether I want to commit to starting again with another baby. My kids are growing up and long term I would like to just have an easy number as I now work longer, go away more and it is difficult to get someone to look after them properly when I do go away. I do have a great lady who does it at the moment but it is very expensive.
Queston really is can my other boy realistically live happily alone? he is still popcorning like crazy! my lone boar is about 2 and a half . opinions please.

Get him neutered to live with your girls?

Or bring him inside so he has more interaction with the family?

Sorry to hear about Fudgey x

So sorry to hear about fudgey-poor little man.
Isn't your boar too old to get 'fixed' it would be a good idea so he can live with your girls or like said by jellybelly bring him indoors so he is in with the family.

Thats just it isn't he a bit old to be done? he is going to be nearly 3 by time it is done and he is over it all. as for indoors at a push if he really needed it yes, i could ban dog from lounge but we have a dog who i wouldn't trust with a small animal at all, a barky staffi cross isnt my ideal companion for a piggie.

Ok how about putting him in the shed will the girls so he can see and talk to them, my 2 boys are in their own cages next to angel and chestnut and angel talk to each other such alot :)

aw sorry to confuse he is in the shed now they have been for the last 18 months but its the lack of close contact i worry about although I know he has never been use to it as he only ever lived with his mum then fought when i put him in with dad. He is popcorning like crazy and not depressed but long term I do wonder if I am being cruel to him.

He has his own kind to talk to and see.
I dont see how you are being cruel to him
