Guinea pig pee has a tendency to turn orange or even brown in color once it has dried (or oxidized?-I think that’s what they refer to It as?). Just keep an eye out for pink or reddish tints as It can be a sign of something more serious, like a UTI.
No; it is either caused by oxidisation (when the pee leaves the body clear, but discolours in orange and rusty tones when in contact with air and darkens in tone as it dries) or sometimes by veg they eat.
Blood dries red. If it is in the pee, it generally dries as small red spots in the middle of the pee or - if there is a larger amount - as a red ring around a differently coloured puddle. Blood and urine don't mix and separate out when they dry.
My 3 girl piggies are on fleece with puppy pads underneath. Depending on the brand of puppy pad, the pee can look more orange when dried, on some rather than others. x
You can always test the wee yourself, the above are the same as your vet uses, they are very easy for testing for blood , you can't realy go wrong, the other 9 tests again very easy to read, but you need to know about things like nitrates albuman ect ect! if you want to make full use of what thay offer then then go onto u tube and put "Reading regent 10 urine test sticks" into there search bar, there are dozens of vidios explaining how to do it! Look for the video with the highest amount of thumbs up, that is the one that is probably the best
