I was very pleased last night to have ordered the cage and stand (Rabbit 150) for Mork and his lady friends to live in.

And today I booked Mork in for the snip - 3rd November (next Tuesday). I feel really quite scared. I know the vet doing it is experienced in rodents esp guineas and they answered okay to a couple of th questions I asked over the phone that were in the neutering sticky so I booked the appointment.

Until he's ready to live with the girls properly I was going to section off the 150cm cage for them both to be in there. I know it will be a bit small for them for a while but they seem to really enjoy being next to each other in runs and I feel sorry when they are in seperate cages. Mork seems so much happier when he can stand up and see / sniff the ladies. What do you think about the temporary cage sectioning?

I think the temp cages is fine :)!

I know your nervous, he is a gorgeous boy I shall keep everything crossed that all goes well :)! He'll be living with his pretty girls in no time :(|)!

ooh gosh I am sure everything will be fine and hope that your cage turns up swiftly

I hope everything goes well and your guinea-pigs enjoy their new cage :)

Can I just ask generally, is it risky for a piggy to go under or is it normal 'my poor little baby' nerves?

I hope everything goes well for Mork anyway, he will love living with the ladies! x)

There is always a chance that a piggy won't wake up or develops serious complications.

That's why you want to find as experienced a vet as possible, so your odds are a lot better.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Mork, Lisa!

PS: The smaller cage should be acceptable for a short time, considering theat they are having run time as well!

Hope it all goes well for Mork. I'm sure it will and your just having the normal nerves as anyone would! Try not to worry. x x

:(

I also have this problem with my dog and my hammy. :{:(

What proble? I can't read that right although I've had a busy day and have brain frazzle.

I have a Pug who is a high risk under anaesthetic, also obv. my hammy isn't too favourable, didn't realise piggies had the same problem, I am a glutton for punishment. :(

My beautiful pooch just had a tumour removed and without that vet I have, I don't think he would have made it, he is a legend. xx>>>

good luck for your op little Mork.I'm sure he`ll be fine

ahh hoggle you have a pug how cute i want to see pics i love those dogs and really want one

AHH I get you now. Poor pooch and sounds like a wonderful vet.

Gosh I couldn't imagine giving a hamster anasthetic. Scary stuff.

Thanks everyone for Morks well wishes. I dreamt about it last night (I have dreamt about this particular guinea so many times). All was okay in my dream. I just know I am going to fret all the time until it's done and he's recovered.

I am very exciting for getting the cage, I can't wait. It seems very large and again it's on a stand. Other wise I'd make a 2 x 4 c&c for them somewhere with a upstairs feeding snug. But wheels give me options to where I place them, they can be in various rooms downstairs depending on time of year, visitors etc. I can't get my huge c&c out of the room it's in - it will have to be dismantelled first.

My late dwarf hammy had anaesthetic after having that horrible cotton wool type bedding stuck round his foot, he made it through and I was gobsmacked.

Here is my pooch! The love of my life! :<>
