These are the piggies that salapples very kindly brought down to us from Ormskirk, the conditions they were kept in were appauling and the piggies in a bad way, all underweight and some with untreatedmedical problems. We have had them 3 weeks now and most are making an improvement. Alot of the girls have lost their front teeth (they have snapped off), more than likely due to a vitamin deficiancy.

The smallest Sally was in a really bad way, she had very little fur, covered in scabs and so itchy she was driving herself mad, she was lso so underweight, less than 500g.

Megan was in the worst condition, she had puss coming out of an almost closed eye that had been left untreated for at least 3 months, she would just sit in one corner shaking. She has since had an operation to remove the puss from the eye socket, they couldn't find an actual eye ball. It was a miracle she even came through the operation as she was so small and fragile. She is now doing ok, although she certainly isn't out of the woods yet, and is still on antibiotics and painkillers. She is also completely blind in her other eye.

Anyway here they are:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Sally, because without you offering to help with the piggy train these piggies wouldn't of made it.

Awwww, poor little things, I feel sick just thinking how they have been neglected. Hope they recvoer from their ordeals and find loving homes. Sent you a pm by the way...

Wow...so, so good to see some photos of these piggies as I've been thinking of them loads. Sally looks great - so different from the last time I saw her. Really sad to hear that the girls have lost their front teeth. The boys I brought you are gorgeous.

Vic - am still concerned about the other animals that are where we got the pigs from - will pm you.

Keep us posted about the ormskirk crew x

Oh the poor poor little things. I cannot believe how unwell they are. Will anything happen to the previous owner? I cannot believe anybody could allow the poor little things to get into such a state. It is disgusting. Thank goodness they are with you now. They are gorgeous little things.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad they are safe and being well cared for now! Well done to you both salapples and x-vic-x!

Aw Megan and Freda x) I was able to give these two cuddles not long ago and met sweet Sally, they are gorgeous girls. Megan stole my heart as much as Danny 8...
Sometimes I feel there may be a god when little ones are saved - no creature should suffer the way they have grrrr

Poor, poor piggies! I hope that they can all recover and go on to have happy healthy lives thanks to all the people involved!

Best of luck with the other animals!

I'm so happy soemone got them out of there. well done girls. No pig should ever have to live in pain and discomfort like that.

Glad to see they are on the mend. x

erm, things are ok at the moment with the Ormskirk piggies.

All of them have now lost there front teeth, and they are a various stages of growing back.

Megan has a chest infection, but it looks like her eye is sorted.

One of the other girls had major surgery on Tuesday to fix a hernia.

So all in all they have been a very expensive, time consuming bunch of piggies. but they are definately worth it.

and you wouldn't recognise Sally, her fur has started to grow back beautifully.

Thanks for the update Vicky - hope they continue to get stronger and stronger! Look forward to seeing a picture of health!

Excellent work, you deseve a medal along with all the other piggie rescuers.
