New Born Pup
I have a 10 day old orphaned pup I have been bottle feeding from one day old. She is living with another piggy who is about 8 weeks and they get on really well but she is understandably very attached to me. When I open the door to her cage she comes running, squeaking and leaps on my hand and grabs hold with her teeth. She is usually very gentle, just lightly holding until I give her her bottle, and then goes right back to holding on while we cuddle.
When I try to put her away she bites down hard and it's really difficult to get her off she's got a very strong bite even at this age!
Is this something I need to be concerned about?
I spend a few hours each day cuddling and patting or she rides in my pocket, but anytime my hand is near she holds on and won't let go. If I have gone more than 3 hours without contact she gets very anxious and calls out.
What do you think this behaviour indicates? Is this typical orphan behaviour?
