Orsons stitches

Quick question.

Orson had his neutering op nearly 4 weeks ago.

He pulled at one side of his stitches once when he was first done and then left them alone after that. I noticed the other day they there is a knot outside his body with a piece of stitching either side that seems to go into his body. He looks pretty cured apart from this.

It's very small but I'm worried with them being outside the body they wont dissolve and he could hurt himself by biting / pulling.

Anyone have any experience of this?

Do I need to try and get a photo or did I explain it okay?

I can't offer any advice Lisa as my boy was glued outside, stitched inside & i saw nothing. Is this an internal stitch that has come thru?

id just pop him to the vet, they'll probably just take it out and it shouldn't cost you anything

Yes I think it is.

Going to take him Monday and hopefully they will just snip it off if we can hold him still enough. I don't think it's anything sinister but it's still not nice.

I remember my mum taking my dogs stitches out when he was neutered but if i were you a quick visit to the vet nurse should sort it out!

That is a resorbable suture.
It needs to be removed, there is always a slight risk that an infection can develop around the area.
Don't panic, there does not seem to be any sign of an infection.

Okay stitch removed by he vet this morning.

He looks lovely and healed up now....

Ooooo Lisa Glad Orson is all better - I've not been on for a while again so only just read!

I bet he did it just to show off his wounds to the lady friends
