Oscar dragging back legs

Oscar is adapting to his new normal. He seems to move is back feet slightly. He is eating and maintaining his weight at1.3 kgs !
I do syringe feed water to ensure he is getting enough.
He is very bright.he does not have any sores ,or a wet under carriage.
I'm happy for him to live his life like this ,as he is happy.

I am glad Oscar is adapting and is well in himself. Keep munching and keep your weight stable sweet boy.

I did have a guinea sow who lost control of her back legs, suddenly. It's a long time ago now, so long ago, I don't even remember which guinea. Babe? Emily? I think Babe, so let's call her that. My vet checked Babe's eyes, among other things, and thought it was on account of a stroke. Her (my vet) idea was to let Babe be and see if she recovered the use of her back legs. It took a number of months, in which Babe slept a lot, altho she ate too (I didn't have to do any syringe feeding) and she did eventually recover the use of her back legs and went back to 'normal'. As I say, it's a very long time ago now, if it was Babe, then 2003/2004 and vets probably do things much different now, but still maybe this can give you some hope?

It's good to hear Oscar is obviously a thriver! Good boy Oscar. Keep up the good work, you and your mummy/slave.

Hi @eileen just catching up with this thread. My Rainbow boy Silver Fox Christian had back leg paralysis and he had arthritis in his spine causing it. He was on a high dose of Metacam (0.7ml twice a day) for around 6 months and then gradually (with the supervision of the vet), I managed to reduce it to 0.5ml twice a day. He regained the full use of his back legs after around a month of high dose Metacam. Is spinal arthritis something that you and/or the vet have considered for Oscar?
