Just about to take Oscar to the vets for X-rays to see if he has stones following his two bloody pee periods this year.

Feeling nervous...

Hope it all goes ok, Karina, shout if you need to ask anything, I can check my Facebook periodically through the day.

Fingers firmly crossed! It is always an anxious time... I've been through it often enough myself - thankfully, not every x-ray has turned up a stone.

Everything crossed for little Oscar x x

Yep it's a stone. All I can think is here we go again after I lost pepper. However I glad no idea what I was dealing with then and now I know a bit more. The boys will be having a huge change of diet I just hope it's not too late. Three and s half must be a bummer age for me as pepper was same age.

Have a heavy heart tonight. He is laid on my knee keeping warm and quiet, not Oscarlike at all.

I can understand you being upset. Is the vet thinking to remove the stone? There is every chance Oscar will make a full recovery from this so please do not worry. Please PM me if you ever need to talk.

Yes there will be an op and there will be big changes with diet etc.

Thanks for the good wishes x

Could you see on the x-ray where the stone is? Actually inside the bladder or in a tube?
I know that Salt N Pepper's Mum has recently gone through this with one of her boars and he had the op a couple of weeks ago, was v sore afterwards but is now doing really well. Just thought you might need a good outcome to read about!
Sending lots of best wishes for Oscar. x

yes i saw that on facebook, was it Ernie? Oscars stone is right at the top of his bladder at the time of xray. Interestingly, it couldnt be seen at all on the scan, just on the xray.

thanks hon x

How is Oscar doing? x

Hi, ta for asking. well, he is happy in himself he is on a new diet consisting of lots of different hays and some new pellets and very little and only certain veg and he has taken to it soooo well, but he is still losing a little bit of weight. Cant wait for the vet to come back and get this op over and done with, cant stand the stress of waiting much longer.

Glad he has taken to the diet so well Karina. Don't worry too much about the weight at this stage as he will most likely be eating much less veg and dry food than he was.

It's good news he is eating. Hoping you can get it sorted soon. Love to Oscar and a hug to you x
