Osteocare And Potters Tablets?

can someone explain what these are used for please. i like to learn and have seen them mentioned alot. osteocare was mentioned by helen on my thread about maisie. the vet said it wasn't needed in maisie's case, but i couldn't really say anything in response to him as i don't know much about it.

Osteocare is a human supplement containing calcium and magnesium, aimed at bonecare, particularly in older women. I have used it successfully with a guinea in a case of hind leg paralysis (sudden onset, no trauma involved), as recommended by Peter Gurney. Apparently a large dose of calcium (not normally something you would givve a pig as they can be prone to bladder stones), for some reason is effective in this type of paralysis. Potters tablets I don't know about, perhaps Helen can educate us both on that one!
 
@piggyfan uses Potters tablets as one of her pigs has arthiritis. I have not used them myself but have heard them recommended a lot, and I know they really help Piggyfan's pig along with a low dose of pain relief.
