My pig has never been a biter. He has always been a sweetheart who would never hurt a fly. Lately he has decided to bite really hard. He has never drawn blood but he does leave marks. What can I do to stop this?

When does he bite you?
He bites when I pick him up. He also bites during health inspections. The only thing is that he loves to cuddle but he hates being picked up to cuddle. I don't think he knows he is hurting me. I have been told to push up on the bottom of his chin in order to show that I was boss but he tries to bite me then too. I have also been told to bop him on the nose but I never tried.

I wouldn't bop him on the nose as that will probably make matters worse, the chin up technique does work though. Sadly you just have to be persistent!

I went through a similar situation when Iggy was poorly and needed meds, I felt mean but I had to show him I was his boss the piggy way and it worked after a while! :)

Ok thank you. I will continue to work with him until it gets better.

Please do not bop any piggy on the nose. Positive reinforcement is what is needed. The link shared by @piggieminder above is the best information about biting. I myself have used it and it works.
