Aw, Willow's got a teeny tiny scratch under her left nostril! I imagine she accidentally did it herself whilst cleaning (her and Marble have never fought). It hasn't bothered her but I will of course keep an eye on her, but I think it's time to get their claws clippered... they're about 4 months old and have never been clipped. Marble's claws are black and Willow's are quite light but both are quite flimsy so I didn't think it was quite time... they're not overly long but quite sharp, so I guess it's time for a trim :)
There's no way I'm doing it so I think a New Year trip to the vet nurse is in order :))

She is utterly scrumptious. But sharp baby nails are a real hazard. I'm fostering a baby at the moment who has very sharp little needle-like claws.

Aw gorgeous girlies!

We go to the vets for nail trimming. As I have said before it is worth it just to watch my daughter asking the vet endless guinea pig related questions. It costs me £16 so a bit more pricey but worth every penny :D (as it also saves me having to attempt it myself!)

Awww they are adorable. Cute little nose, poor little cutie got cut!
I hope they behave for the trim! :D

They're young, they're loud, they're dramatic so I doubt they'll be chilled about it (although they were surprisingly fine with bath time)! But the plan is, when they invariably get all panicky and melodramatic, they can come back to mummy for cuddles and kisses, ergo I'm not the bad guy in all of this :))

Awww what gorgeous close ups of your darling piggies. Hope the vet trip goes well when its manicure time.

I took mine to the vet too and got them done. I figured they would be like my cat and all drama queen like and have a massive fit but they were both well behaved and didnt squirm (the nurses know how to hold them properly anyway) or squeak up a storm or though Coco tried to bite the nurse. They did sulk something chronic for the rest of the day and I got the stink eye but gladly took treats off me of course. I bet when I go to try it though all hell will break loose and i'll end up with band aid's everywhere.

aww they are both really beautiful :luv:

can we do 'virtual' squishing of your piggies? I'm with @zombieprincess i wanna squishy-squoosh them both too:love::love:
:td:... i dont think its fair for you to have sole squishing rights- even if they are your gorgeous piggies  :lol!:

Willow has such pretty colouring & Marble definately has 'kissy'ears

Her eyes are just  Hope her scratch heals quickly x

She ran headlong into the run fence earlier, the silly doofus, and I was genuinely worried about her teeth so I had a good old check - good news is that teeth are fine and scratch is barely visible!

Marble, being a heftier chunk, likes to ration her zoomies and squeeze every ounce of pleasure out of them. Willow, on the other hand, I suspect has ferret DNA somewhere along the lines, and given the space, will joyously (and chunteringly) shoot about, and being long and lithe (we're talking in guinea terms, she's still a pigtato!) her legs go faster than her special perception and she tears round like a well-coiffed bulldozer knocking into/over things!

What a little nutter!

Ha ha Marble, I love it, Vimto is the same. Why run hen you can stroll.... The only time she runs is when I go to grab her for a cuddle, she waddles off at some speed!

Willow's collision detection must have failed! they can normally avoid stuff at speed bless her, what a little character you have there! Pleased all teeth okay

So, both had their claws trimmed this morning. Of course, because I warned the vet nurse that this was their first time and I thought they'd be squirmy (especially Willow), they made me look like an idiot by being as good as gold. More through petrifiedness than obedience, for sure :))

My 7 year old niece was with me, full of facts for the vet nurse ("Do you know guinea pigs like chewing cardboard?" "They poop when they're eating the hay!"). When we'd brought them home, I said we should give them a kiss and cuddle each for being so good, and she was quite worried to ensure they both got exactly the same amount of kisses and cuddles as they were equally brave and so neither would get jealous :))
