hi, we've noticed our girls have done one or two orange-coloured wees this weekend. Also, a couple of times when we've picked them up, they've been slightly damp on their back end. Does this mean they have a urine infection, and what can we do about it? They seem to be eating, drinking and behaving as normal. Cheers.

Is it red, or definitely orange? Wee can oxidise, resulting in orange wees, it doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong, oxidised wee is normal.

It's orange, but it's orange straight away, not had time to oxidise?

Have they eaten anything orange? If not it is possible it is a UTI but could also be oxidisation. A UTI needs to be treated with antibiotics from a vet, the most effective is usually Septrin. You will need to identify which pig it is though.

If they have been out on the grass that seems to sometimes cause oxidation like Helen says, if you have some urine sticks I would test their wee first to see if that is showing any blood in their urine, or keep them off the grass for a day or two to see if is clears up :)

Thanks to everyone who replied! Yes, I think it was just that they were too long on the grass, orange wees have cleared up now x
