Hector we miss you a lot. You have left a big hole in our little family. Your illness came out of the blue, you hid it so well.
This is very hard to write, even now a few weeks on.
Our quiet pig, unless food was late, then you were our chief wheeker.
You loved to do structural work on all the cardboard houses, we had to find new boxes frequently.
You even made a few unusual snacks choices, it made us laugh, you once thought the back of the noodle bath mats was tasty and I had to take them away from a week.
Your favourite chill out spot was on Daddy slaves lap.
Hector our little hay expert, you would always let us know if the hay was not to your liking, I learnt a lot from you.
Hamish misses you too, work on the latest cardboard house, has slowed down dramatically!
We think of you daily. Rest in peace.
My Forever Pet
There's something missing in my home,
I feel it day and night,
I know it will take time and strength
before things feel quite right.
But just for now, I need to mourn,
My heart... it needs to mend.
Though some may say,
"It's just a pet,"
I know I've lost a friend.
You've brought such laughter to my home,
and richness to my days.
A constant friend through joy or loss
with gentle, loving ways.
Companion, friend, and confidante,
A friend I won't forget.
You'll live forever in my heart,
My sweet, forever pet.
