Junior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone, I posted a few times on this forum about my beautiful boy Storm, who had been suffering with dental issues and at the time we needed advice because we’d never experienced something like that. We received a lot of tips and love for our little one and I truly believe that the advice we followed helped keep our boy going for a little while longer.
However, yesterday we made the heartbreaking decision to have our Storm put to sleep. Although he seemed to be improving he suffered from a prolapse and it was unfair to him to keep him going, as much as we wanted to. We did everything we could for our little one: late night syringe feeds, multiple vet visits, tried so many different foods, and two operations. We are absolutely devastated - he was the most gentle, sweet-natured boy we’ve ever had. He left behind his brother, Pebbles, who has been fussed over non-stop just to give him a little bit of company for now.
We’ve buried Storm and planted some daffodil bulbs by his grave that will hopefully bloom in a few months - a little bit of yellow for our little ray of sunshine that was Storm.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. I too had to put my lovely Velvet to sleep 6 days ago. Even though you know it is the right thing to do it doesn't make the decision any easier. When you have battled to save them it makes it harder. Storm is now out of pain at the Rainbow Bridge, has his favourite food and is popcorning away. He still loves you and knows that you did your best to keep him with you but sometimes the call of the Rainbow Bridge is just too strong and they have to go.
