Junior Guinea Pig
Some of you may remember a while back that I posted a thread about our guinea pig Lando. The vet suspected he had a tumour in his bladder & it had dissapeared the next time he had a scan...
Fortunately Lando was in the clear, we thought we'd get many more years with him but all went downhill with him.
On 21st September we left home to go on our yearly holidays, I waved goodbye to our boys knowing I'd return home to them both happy and healthy.
On 19/09 my mum called and told me that Lando was being taken to the vet - he was refusing to eat, drink & was laying around lethargically. The vet confirmed during the appointment that he had GI stasis, he was given pain relief injections alongside a gut stimulant and was prescribed medications to help his gut start up again.
Lando shortly picked up after his appointment and my mum sent through lots of videos of him eating - we were delighted to know our little man was on the mend again.
Later that night my partner received a call from my gran to say that Lando had passed away in my mums arms. My mum was far too distraught to speak to us & was worried sick about telling me. It seems the stasis was all too much for our little guy & he wasn't strong enough to fight.
Lando had never been the same since the start of all his bladder issues and we had an incling he wouldn't be lucky enough to live a longer life. Despite all of this we reassure ourselves that we did everything we could for him & that he had the best life - always spoilt rotten & treated like royalty in our household!
We are absolutely gutted & heartbroken that he's gone, we are yet to return home to see his brother but know it'll hit us hard not seeing him waiting there for us.
Lando was the most handsome, loving & affectionate guinea pig. Lando & Gus (his brother) just so happen to be our first pets together so they have an extra special place in our hearts.
We will miss him so much but will always remember and treasure all of the memories we had with him.
Popcorn free little dude, we hope you're free of pain now & eating endless bowls of parsley over the rainbow bridge x x x x x

I know how hard you and your family fought for him, he knew it too. RIP little one.
TKe heart that he was with your family who cared and loved and he will have known that. He looks such a little character, so sorry x
