Our sweet baby left for The Bridge last night and cannot believe she has gone 8...
Sheila came to us with Bruce in September of 2011 on a hot sunny day and became part of our much adored and loved piggy family.
Health issues started in May 2012 as she had lost weight but our Vet could find nothing wrong so we kept an eye on her weight but she remained the happy girl we adopted. She suffered a nasty bout of pleurisy in November last year and we fought to keep her going - she pulled through but the scar tissue left her susceptible.
Sadly, yesterday, Sheila had a turn for the worst and had to be syringe fed and appeared very weak, lay on her side last night and left for The Bridge with Bruce close by.
We'll miss your funny little noises when you walked, your ears that always looked too big for your head wiggling when you ate and the chooken legs you insisted on splaying after supper plonks.
The pain is surreal - you've just left for the Funeral home and will be back home with us on Thursday.

"The Angels at The Rainbow Bridge,
Wrote down our baby's birth,
And whispered as they closed the Book,
She's too beautiful for Earth.
There'll be a time I promise you,
When we'll meet at the other Land,
And shower you with cuddles,
Then maybe I'll understand..."

Run free baby girl, we love and miss you so much. We'll look after Bruce for you sweetie x>>

So sorry Tracey. She was a very special piggie indeed and I know how much you both worshipped her. Lots of love to you, Russ and to little Bruce too. She'll be in your heart forever.

Thinking of you both, massive hugs x

Sleep well beautiful girl.

RIP Sheila
x x

So sorry about Sheila, she was clearly a very special piggie. I hope you are ok xx

No words can ease what you are going through, but know that we are all here for you should you need to talk - I'm sending loads of hugs your way. Even though things are still very raw here, i'm still lost for words. Sheila had a wonderful life/home with you, never wanting for anything and being showered with love everyday, she was incredibly lucky to have a piggy mummy/daddy like you & russ

Sleep tight Sheila - if you see Dappy give him a big piggie kiss from me xxxxx

Another piggie star shining bright in the night sky.....

I am very sorry that Sheila couldn't stay with you longer! She sounds like a real pigsonality and like she had a wonderful time with you.

RIP

I'm so very sorry you lost your precious Sheila. She sounded like a very special piggy for sure.

Sleep well precious one, run free over the bridge. RIP Sheila.

Thinking of you x

So sorry hun, I know it hurts but she was so loved. Big hugs to and Bruce, thinking of you xx

So sorry to hear of the loss of your little girl :( Sleep soundly little one xx

What a beautiful tribute to your little girl, i love those words...

Rip Sheila, run free beautiful girl.

Thinking of you all, its perfectly clear how speical she was to you xx

I am so sorry to read this, she had a wonderful home with you & her huspig Bruce I remember when you adopted them both & how happy you were. Big ((hugs)) for you x
Run free little Sheila in the long green grass & popcorn over the Bridge with the other piggy angels xx

Thank you all for your kindness, I'm still numb and can't stop crying for our girl - it really is hard coming to terms with her loss.
Bruce is quiet but eating and plan to give him cuddles a bit later as haven't been able to pick any of our piggies up since Sheila passed.
We're looking to find him a lady friend or two very soon as hate him being alone - he lives next to the herd of girls and chats to them through the grids (something that Sheila would give him a hefty nudge for doing :))
We are in awe of the Pet services we chose as they laid her in the Chapel of Rest yesterday where there were candles and soft music before her cremation with her little teddy and they treated her with so much respect and dignity...know it sounds morbid but she was one of the family and wanted her treated as I would a human.
I've ordered her a little memorial plaque to keep in the house and we'll plant flowers on her burial spot when I feel ready, may not be for a time yet as it has to be the perfect place and time for my perfect baby.
The sunshine and birds singing this morning has me thinking spring is not far away and gave me kind of a warm feeling knowing The Bridge is far superior to Earth where all our loved ones are playing together x>>

So sorry to hear about Sheila......Popcorn forever at the bridge sweet girl...x

RIP Sheila. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of another dearly loved piggie. My thoughts are with you. xx

Sheila sounds as if she was a special little character that will be missed greatly.
