Hi all,
Looking for advice on outdoor living for our 2 boy piggies. They were a Christmas present for my son from a relative & have been indoor since he got them, however I want to move them outside when the weather improves, so they have more space. My plan is to buy a 6x4 shed for them, but I'm clueless as to whether I'll need to insulate it, or what type of flooring it'll need (it comes with a floor but what do I put on top of the wood). There won't be electric running to the shed.
I want to give them the run of the shed & presume I'll need a hutch for them to snuggle up. I was going to look on the C & C website for a run, but would massively appreciate any advice. Also can't afford to spend huge amounts.
Thanks in advance 😊

There is a guide all about hutches, cages and general living conditions. the members cage and hutch galleries have some fab sheds in their and will give you plenty of ideas.
Lino is good for a base or you could use a PVC shower curtain. I think you will need insulation for winter weather, think about ventilation in summer, particularly when it’s hot too, a window with a screen perhaps that’s safe and won’t let cats in

Are you planning on them only being out for summer and then moving back in for winter? This will have an effect on what steps you need to take regarding insulation etc

My boys live in my shed year round. They have a 8x6 shed with a 6ft hutch in the shed. They have free access between the hutch and shed during the day time during the winter (locked in the hutch at night during winter to keep them warm). They don’t get locked into the hutch at night in the summer and have free access between the hutch and the shed, but due to the stifling heat which builds up in the shed in summer , they are either on the lawn during the day in the run when I’m home to supervise and provided it’s not too hot for them to be on the lawn, or brought into the house during the day (I always keep spare cages)

The flooring for my shed is a plastic sheet, but lino is great - basically anything waterproof. You will then need to put down a bedding of your choice.

I completely agree though, for a run you will need a wooden and mesh run - a c&c is not suitable for an outdoor run as they are not predator proof.
