Hey my names emma. I was wondering if anyone know anything about outdoor enclosers. I’m getting 3 guinea pigs most likely this summer. Right now my dad is building a outdoor guinea pig cage and I had a few questions. I want to have a place where my guinea pigs can go out side rather being in there shed all day. For when we begin building this area I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what the ground should be. I’m pretty sure multch is a no and I thought I remember reading to much grass all the time can be bad. I also have dogs so the grass is most likely not good do to urine. Does anyone have any ideas of a flooring that would be guinea pig safe? There’s this girl who’s youtube is Erin’s Ark and she has a massive outdoor encloser. I haven’t been able to figure out what she uses for the floor of this encloser. If anyone had herd of her and know what it is please let me know. Thank you btw sorry for such a long question

Grass would be fine if you have it cordoned off so that the dogs can't get to it. Give the grass a good soak to rinse it, then leave it a week or so, cut it and it should be fine when the new growth comes through. If you're not getting the piggies for a wee while, the grass will have time to get rid of the dog wee. Start piggies off only going out for 10 minutes or so, and build it up. I don't see any reason they couldn't build up to having free run on grass, unless you've a lot of buttercups on it, which aren't particularly good for them, but grass is fine.
