outdoor run? will this work?

As you know i've revamped my hutch (now indoors!) and did revamp an indoor cage but turns out its too small as only 80cm so i was gonna stick it in loft for emergency etc... but..

now i'm thinking.. could i use it to with this pen from the link and stick it outside as part of their run?

Do you mean have the cage you have inside the run ?
If so, I thinks that's a fab idea - cage could act as a shelter for them.
I used two of these panels for the front of our girls pen, our other girls almost ate their way through the willow trellis we purposely used to make it look nice :x (back of pen on a smaller scale) The ramp railings disappeared virtually overnight once they decided they liked the taste of willow :))
OH just carefully cut them down and filed any rough edges then shaped them to what we needed (they are quite tall) The panels here are halved, around 7-8 inches with bamboo sticks added to act as a beading along the top.

Have been looking for three more outdoor runs for our piggies but think you have just given me some great new ideas...thank you x>>
 
yeah for the outdoors with the cage, so cage is inside the run if that makes sense? just next door has few cats so i'm thinking if they're in their "pen" and have a "cage" in their pen they can hide away IF a cat comes along?! but they wont be left unsupervised just in case but you know what i mean lol ... rambling arent i! i'm gionna do that then!

next question can they go on decking? or do they need grass?
 
I have a similar type of run, but tbh am a bit nervous of using it. It seems a lot more flimsy than the wooden one with a lid that battens down, and we have buzzards overhead and cats next door so I don't like leaving them in there unsupervised. With a net it should be fine, and will stand almost anywhere, but you do need to be aware of young (and not so young) children crashing into it, as it can fairly easily be knocked over. I am going to get some proper fruit cage netting for mine, and peg it down properly over it before using it this summer, as this should deter cats and buzzards - I also now have a sparrow hawk that comes to the garden and is (almost) licking its lips everytime I have put the piggies out so far this year.

omg bless they do have a few admirers eh!

my son cant go in garden unsupervised as its leveled decking with grass at bottom so he could fall! so guineas will only go out when we do;)

what do you think to decking?

Perhaps some chicken wire roofing or something could be added for extra security and peace of mind - half the fun of these little furries is designing the pens etc.
As long as the pen is well secured (the spokes are quite long to be bedded into grass if I recall but would still reinforce)
Too much rich spring grass can upset their tums so ideally, a small grassed area or hard surfaces are ideal - slabbed areas etc. are good for keeping nails trim :))

lol clogs could be good idea to protect their feet!
do you think they'll try to eat the deckin then? i maybe might put lino down or somethin? my god they're taking over my life! LOL and not even got them yet! :{

Welcome to the land of piggy slavery ;)
Don't think they'd eat the decking - I treat mine like babies or mischievous toddlers so try and 'risk assess' things.
Be careful of plants, daisies are poisonous to them so keep away from anything other than grass which should not be mown within a day or two before they go outdoors. Any cuttings can ferment in their tums and have severe consequences :(
