I'm sure there must be threads on this but i can't find them mallethead

Anyway, I need to buy or make a new outdoor run for the summer for my two girls, buying one would be easier and i'm hoping someone has some suggestions on the best type and where to purchase one from?

It needs to be easy to get the piggies out of , maybe one i can step into myself to catch them at bed time, and also one they can't dig there way out of.

Would love to see pics of what you have:<>

I got my run from a site I am trying to find on the internet for you, really nice quality run.

You could search ebay for some ideas of runs, think the place I brought mine from also had an ebay shop.

I have one of these

It is much bigger then his apex run and a lot easier to get him out of.
As you can see it was originally meant for the rabbit but he free ranges now so McMac is in there :)

Mine is medium I think.
I cover it with a piece of tarp (not the one in the pic anymore) for shade and protection. Plus I am always out there.

Thanks everyone:rose

I used an old run today which is a bit of a pain but i wanted to put the girls out as it's so warm inside at the mo, it's only the 2nd time being outside, first time was on the grass during that warm week in March and they were terrified, this time on the patio on fleece as the lawn is being seeded and again they were terrified, didn't come out of the hiddies all day, not to eat or drink and there were only 4 poops in the run?/

They were so jumpy tonight and didn't really want any veg for tea, although they did force it down eventually:(|) they just want to sleep, Should i give up on outdoor time or keep going? I don't want to stess them! maybe there are piggies that just don't take to being outside? :(

it took mine a while to get used to having grass time, they started off with a smaller run 4 x 2(the one silver was in) and I put in 3 hides and covered the whole of the top with a fleece blanket to give them shade and confidence to move about. And when I got a 5x3 they again hid mostly in the shaded sides and it took a few hours for them to get munching (as by then they knew the grass was for eating). By the time I got their 5x4 they dont care one bit, I have three stools and the wooden box section at one end to provide shade and hidey area.

It takes time to get used to new things, silver yesterday spent most of his day in the hide and not munching on the grass, he will get used to his run and I know once he gets to go in with the girls he will be munching away like a good un.

Here you go, the place I got mine from

and mine is in this thread from last year

Thanks for the info and links pepperdog:<>

The runs look great and i love those pics from your previous post, that grass was so long i bet they loved it :)

I didn't put them out today as it was so hot and they are not themselves, I wrapped some ice blocks in towel for them to sit next too which i think they appreciated, I just need my grass seed to sprout then they can go on the lawn:)

if you have a look up the top of housing there's a couple of threads, there's loads of pics in there...... other than that have a search online :)

On the topic of runs, does anyone have one that can be folded away when not in use? We don't have a large garden, so don't want a run taking up playing space for the children when the piggys aren't out.
