I wanted to know if there was any one else who keeps their piggies outdoors ALL year round, and only bring them in when it snows?. The guinea pigs I am rescuing have apparently lived outdoors ALL their lives, and are used to it. What should I do? :( I am SO scared of them being cold!

My boys live outdoor in a shed in a hutch which is insulated with loft insulation (stapled across the back, sides and top) and several blankets laid ontop of the hutch. Extra hay and cardboard boxes are put in the hutch over the coldest nights so they keeep warm and toasty.
If you look on the left of my photo you will see the shiny silver insulation which you can buy from most B+Q/DIY stores for around £4 to £12 depending on thickness:

I also use cosie cups and fleece and vetbed in my hutch :)

I've been keeping pigs outside for as long as I've owned them, apart from when it snows (which it doesn't do very often down here), which is when they take up the entire floor of my bedroom.
The garden is very sheltered and their hutch is in the corner up by 6ft fences, and with plenty of hay to snuggle up in, and some thick carpet and/or tarpaulin over the top weather depending, I've never had any temperature issues - they've nearly always got bright pink ears and boiling hot tummies when I put them in the run in the mornings :-)
If they're hardy pigs and used to the great outdoors, I wouldn't worry too much about them being out there

Mine live outside in hutches & runs in a big shed, I use fleece flooring, loads of hay, insulated boxes & fleecy beds & hides.
The outside of the hutches are covered in that silver insulation stuff and fleece blankets and at night time I cover the front of the hutches with a fleecy blanket.
The runs all have plastic hides full of hay and the floors are lined with fleece.
The shed windows also have thick lined curtains up that are closed at night time.

Our pigs live outdoors all year long unless it gets down to around minus seven as it has done this winter!

They also live in a hutch sheltered by a fence and the side of the house (near the warm external vent from the boiler). We have an insulation cover over the hutch and a thick duvet when necessary. They also have a fleece that covers the front at night. We top up the hay daily and they each have a pigloo under which they have a snuggle safe heat pad each.

My husband has always kept piggies and has always kept them outside. When we got them in May as babies we kept them inside for the first few nights, putting them out in the day to acclimatize them.

I hope this helps. Good Luck! X
