This might be a eally silly question but-

How long is it ok for the piggies to spend outside? Just wondering as they dont seem to drink alot when they are out so I just keep popping in some cucumber and they also have plenty of shade.

Apologies if this is a really daft question.

Nah, it's a pretty good question

As long as they have shade, and the temperature is nice they can stay out for as long as you'd like :)

Thanks Guys :-)

Been letting them have between 30-45 min a time, will increase this over the nice cooler afternoons/nights.

Just worried about their water intake

My 2 barely ever drink from their bottle! Occasionally, but not much at all & I'm sure not daily...! I think they're ok as long as they have shade but I'm not sure they can sit & eat grass all day I thought it was high in calcium or something?

My boys were out all day yesterday. I had been giving them grass every now and then so when they went into the run Icould leave thm out a bit longer than an hour or so. Saying that they munch until they are full and then go to sleep so they're not continuously munching.
They rarely drink though either, funny little things. I'm sure if they're thirsty they would although giving them cucumber is a good idea.
Mine don't like that! xx

Yeah I was cutting them a bit of grass over the past week or so.

Mine were the same, munch for a few mins then go have a nap and then munch, nap etc.

Must be a hard life being a g-pig 8)

I'm glad you asked the question cos I was wondering the same thing! We've had our boys out for the first time over the last two weekends, just an hour for the first times, but they were out all afternoon today, and I was wondering if it was ok. They munched and rested on and off.

Glad to hear the water situation is ok, I don't think mine touched theirs all afternoon.

So true & so cute xx

Mine had a sniff of the watter bottle but didn't bother with it. Thats why i just kept putting some cuumber slices in for them

Hi

My two boys are outdoor piggys and have definitely been enjoying the warm weather over the last few days :)

If its nice and warm I put them out once the grass has dried and warmed up and bring them back in again before the grass starts getting cold so today they were out a good 3hours.

I use an upturned cardboard box with a hole cut out so they can eat the grass in the shade if they want to.

Mine have a water bottle on their run but never drink from it as I think they get a lot of water from the grass. Most piggies don't drink a huge amount anyway.

This morning they ran around the run like something demented wheeking away :)
