Hello. About this time last year i came on to this forum asking about my guinea pig, Minnie's behavior. She had been acting very unusual and dominant, doing things like excessive mounting, rumble strutting and being overall not her happy self. Many people on here told me to get her checked out by the vet because it might be ovarian cysts which is very common in female piggies. I talked about it with my mother who said just to monitor the situation before jumping ahead of ourselves and spending an arm and a leg at the vet. So that is just what i did and her behavior seemed to go away over the next few days and stayed away until now. This time i have noticed it again but, along with the behavior she has had hair thinning along her abdomen and she has lost a bit of weight. I know that all of these are sure signs of ovarian cysts and i am terrified. I would like to bring her to he vet but this situation has come at a time where i am very tight on money as i have has some personal expenditures that i needed to attend to. If anyone has had a piggy with ovarian cysts how did your situation go? And how dangerous are they, if i put off the vet for a bit until i have the money? I realize this is definitely not an ideal situation, but i am kinda at a loss right now. Any advise you may have is welcomed.
