Hello! I'm new to the form and have a question about one of my guinea pig's health. She is a female crested guinea pig. She was adopted about two-three years ago and is about 4 years old. She was adopted overweight.
I heard that guineas usually weigh 1-1.5 pounds (correct me if I am wrong), and she weighs 2 pounds (or 2.5 pounds, the scale sometimes will change). I am worried that she is too overweight and it's unhealthy. She gets the same amount of food as my other guinea pig that is a male, and the same amount of water and right after my male guinea pig gets play time, I'll set her down on the floor and she won't do anything but sniff around and take a step. Literally, ONE step.
She is not like my other male piggy, Fergus, who is slimmer and walks around a lot more. I wonder if there is a way to loose weight or make her more active or something.
Thank you in advance!

Do you mean pounds or kilos? I think normal piggy weight is around 1-1.5kg but this can be dependant on breed and sex. If your piggy is 2kg then that is overweight but if she is 2lb that is approx 900g and so her weight is fine.

Please anyone, correct me if my info is wrong!

Also what are you feeding her (type of food) and approximately how much. What veg does she get?

Yep sounds just like my marzipan she also has a crest maybe pure breads are not as enthusiast ?! :) x
