Hi, my young boar weighs 1.2 kg, and I'm worrying if that is considered overweight.
Thanks

The number on the scales is not a way to be able to tell - there is a huge range of healthy weights so you need to know what is right for his body type. To know this, you check their heft and the guide below explains further.

One of my piggies weighs 1250g and the other is 1500g - both are perfectly healthy for themselves even though there is a huge variation in the number on the scales

Weight - Monitoring and Management

Like people, piggies come in all different shapes and sizes. My Edward weighs 950g where as my biggest piggy, Elizabeth weighs 1250g So long as his belly isn’t dragging across the floor, he’s not overweight

Thank you very much. Now I know that he's not overweight. Again, thanks!

He looks a lovely healthy boar to me. Both my old boars weighed over 1350 gms and I never considered them overweight. My new boar Hector is only 1220 gm in comparison. You need to feel for heft not weight x
