Hi, I have 2, 3 month old male guinea pigs. One is noticeably getting bigger then his brother. My question is should I be feeding Oxbow adult pellets? Because I've been feeding Oxbow youth pellets which is made with alfalfa instead of timothy. I feed timothy hay, just very unsure of what oxbow pellets I should be getting for my baby boys.

I have heard alfalfa is good until they reach 4 months, then switch to timothy based. But some say 6 months

It’s not entirely true that baby Guinea pigs need alfalfa. There is a useful post from wiebke on this but I cannot remember what it is for the moment....
young animal pellets (piggy and rabbit) were introduced as part of market demand. I have never fed baby pellets to any of my young animals (piggy or rabbit!) as there is no need for them.
Pellets should make up such a small part of the diet, and they should be fed in such a small amount (one tablespoon per day). 90% of the diet needs to be hay.
Also, piggies come in different shapes and sizes, so it may be that he just going to be a bigger boy than his brother! We would need to know his food intake, his weight and his heft to know whether there is really an issue.
