Hi All

Last week I bought some Cavy Cuisine as we were using the Gerty and I read here it isn't great for them. I'm trying to introduce the Cuisine into their food and have been for over two weeks now (they were on their summer hols whilst we were away last week) but they don't seem to be eating the Cuisine. At least I don't think they are but there are small poo's in the bowl when we get home from work... Oreo may be eating it.

Am I being a little bit paranoid, and because they are getting hay and wet, they actually don't need to eat much of it. Or is it the quality of pellets is so much better they don't need that much?

Hi
I decided to change my piggies food from Pets @ Home nuggets, to Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. They were all rescue pigs, and all had been fed the P@H food prior to coming to me.
I did it gradually over a fairly long space of time. I noticed the little poos in the bowl, but found that the poo came off their feet when they were standing on the edge of the bowl. I thought initially that they were pooing in the bowl, (what a cheek) !
Now my five guineas prefer the Oxbow to the Pets@Home stuff, although they like a change once in a while. Oxbow is expensive, I get the large bags off Amazon, as I find they are the cheapest.
Just stick with it and I think you will find they will gradually accept the Oxbow.

My gang now love their CC, they were used to excel nuggets anyway but they now get a mix of the two and the CC is always the first to go. Stick with it, gradually reduce the mix and increase the pellet, you will get there in the end.

Mine used to be on Gerty Guinea Pig aswell, but Ive moved them to Oxbow Cavy Cuisine and they like it!
Won't eat any other pellets tho only Oxbow
