I wondered where is the cheapest place to buy the 36g sachets on line? I can get them from my vet, but I wondered if they were cheaper on line? Thanks :)

Ive seen the 36g packs for around £3.50 each - i bought the 141g pack size from vetuk for £8.11 + £1.99 shipping

supreme recovery feed is much cheaper! You can also get the recovery plus that contains probiotics

Yes i just saw that - supreme recovery plus is £2.75 for a 20g sachet - that is from the hay experts, there could be cheaper elsewhere :)

Thanks for your replies. It's mainly for my Tiny Mouse chinchilla who is a bit off at the moment, but I like to have some in, just in case. I have always used the Oxbow and added a little Avipro. It has always been well received by the chins. I've not tried Supreme Recovery. I know it's probably cheaper to buy a bigger bag, but with those smaller sachets I find it gets used up without having to open a new sachet, especially if it's only for short term use, which it has been up to now.

What sort of shelf life does Critical Care have. I've never used it but would like to get some in case of it been needed for emergency care.

As long as it's kept dry, in theory, a very long one! I wouldn't worry about it being out of date etc. as long as it looks and smells like it should.

Hi
I buy my Critical Care Fine Grind from Amazon. It isn't cheap, good products rarely are. But it is a life saver and I always keep some in. As long as you keep it dry, I usually put an opened sachet inside a polythene bag and it keeps well. It is currently £9.72 from Amazon for 100gr. You have to sometimes pay postage on top of that which makes it quite costly, but it is delivered very quickly. I tried my guinea pigs on 'Recovery' but they didn't like it, and I tend to pander to mine if they are off colour. So Critical Care is my favourite feed for a poorly pig.

I find that if being syringe fed long term (Cameo was 5 loooong weeks!) that having a few things available works well - they quickly go off of the taste of one thing. I also find that at work too, particularly with rabbits; they often go off of one very quickly, but accept the syringe feeding more readily with a different product and thus taste :)
