Oxbow - How much

Hi guys,

Now that i'm able to buy oxbow in my area i'm definitely going to give it a go.

I moved due to Uni and i've only just been able to have two of my pigs sent here, the rest being cared for by my mum (who i have now converted into a guinea pig lady!) So very excited to have two of my boys with me :D Getting set up for their arrival.

My question is - how much do i need to feed? Pumbaa is roughly 8 months old and Gus is almost a year old.

Any recommendations on how much/which type will be appreciated. Had a bit of a search through posts but couldn't find anything without going through heaps of individual threads and posts.

Hi love i give my girls Western Timothy hay and they get a big handful a day..... but they also have meadow hay (from a produce store) :)

Sorry just wanted to add...... it's not cheap to buy as you know in OZ so ask if they have an open bag at the vets and take home a little sample to try out first, this is what my vets let me do :)

Yes unfortunately Oxbox is very pricey here mallethead. That's a fantastic idea about asking the vet for a sample first! Will definitely get a sample before i commit to a full bag etc.

I have just had my first bag of Western Timothy hay, what lovely hay it is and super quality too.
 
Brittany if you like i could send you some as a sample i'm sure my girls wouldn't mind :))
