I’ve fed the “Oxbow western Timothy+Orchard grass” to our guinea pigs since they were babies, but now they are roughly around a year old and I read the bag and it says it’s ok for young & pregnant small animals, but to feed in moderation to others. So I don’t know if I should switch to a different type. When I googled to see if it was ok to feed these types of hay’s google said it was fine, but I just want to be sure✨💖✨

Timothy and orchard grass are both absolutely the right thing to be feeding to guinea pigs. Any grass hay (timothy hay, orchard grass, meadow hay) needs to be provided in huge quantities at all times.

I used to feed the oxbow ‘blend’ of timothy and orchard to mine all the time until I switched to a different Uk subscription based supplier.

Alfalfa hay must not routinely be fed to guinea pigs though. Alfalfa is not a grass hay it is a legume. It is too high in calcium and has no need to be in the diet of an adult guinea pig. It is suitable in very small amounts for pregnant guinea pigs and the very young piggies who are not yet weaned.
