Hi everyone,

I was very angry wheni went into pets at home the other day as when I was looking at the guinea pigs i relised that they had no food what so ever in their hutch. They were all looking for food around thier house. I cannot remember which p@h it was now. But luckily when i was talking to my mum about it in the shop P@H heard me and gave them some food when i left!

But luckily they did look quite healthy but still it made me a angry :tickedoff:

Superstarpiggy.

P@H guineas usually have food (the couple I've been in I've seen food) as it's P@H pellets - mini advertisment!
I worry about hay & water mainly, I have been in to my localish P@H and found the guineas without any hay, and Lucinda has been in and found they couldn't reach the water bottles :(

Oh I think they do care - but only about their profit margins! I wish we had stricter laws in this country governing animals and pet shops - I know that local councils have their rules but these don't seem to be enforced very rigorously and they differ from council to council.
:tickedoff:

Oh yes, we have a local garden centre who doesn't seem to think it necessary to give rabbits and guinea pigs hay - ever 98) Not just 'they've eaten it all since this morning' - they've just never had it.

Oh, and of course, it's ok to keep the two species together ::)

I've had some not so great stories about the Guinea pigs at P@H. One guinea pig was left all by himself. In the place where the giant rabbits were. :tickedoff: Thankfully their were no rabbits in there with yet they still had no ventalation. Also.. I saw a what I thought was a boar mating with lot's of guinea pigs.. Very suspicous. But other than food and water they are fine I guess.

yes i just saw your post piggies asking if there is such thing as a good p@h i don't think there is  :(

There are good and bad petshops all over the country, but more often than not on this forum this chain petstore is the only one mentioned.

My local P@H are head and shoulders better than any other pet shop around here. if i had to get animals from pet shops its would be P@H, in fact i have had animals from there! pigs always have food, water, hay and veg, so do rabbits. everyone has enough space etc. only iffy but is wood shavings but thats a personal choice some people use them some people dont. i dont know why we have to have so many posts about P@H. i think we all know that there are good and bad stores by now.

sorry if was offensive about it i just had to say what i saw because i was so upset ;)
