hi I'm liam,
I was wondering weather the p@h hutches are good quality there is a hutch in another petstore for £40 but it has no legs and we are looking on ebay but i dont like that idea as they could carry a diesease (frome previous occupants) what would you recomend and does the RSPCA do hutches?

so is ebay worth it?

Is p@H any good with hutches?

Or should i just go with the other pet store hutch with no legs for £40?

PS. I'm looking in the RSPCA today to choose which two guineas I'm gunna adopt we will pick them up next week as i am going on holiday to the lake district O0

I have a P @ H hutch and it is great. I have the Lavender Lodge which is around 6ft long, I have two of these one for the boys and one for the girls. I really wouldn't go for a hutch without legs, it is better in my opinion to have one that is off the floor. I've looked around Ebay the hutches are fine the thing is though you can't see the quality of the work or what they are actually like. http://www.happyhutch.co.uk/ is a good place to try, they are a little cheaper than P@H but again you can't see the quality of them but they do look ok! :)

We have a pets at home hutch and its grand. We have the parsley den. My only slight criticism of it is the overhang at the front of the hutch isn't big enough, so the rain was getting in.

We've just extended it by 6 inches with a bit of wood and some roofing felt and its grand now.

I'm sure you could probably buy a lot cheaper 2nd hand on ebay tho. As for diseases, as long as you give it a good clean out with some disinfectant before you put your piggies in it it shouldn't be a problem...
 
Buy the hutch with no legs if you prefer it. But it on some bricks or build legs and it will be fine.
 
The only thing about a hutch with no legs is that you will have to prop it up on bricks or something. Try to avoid hutches made from plywood as they are thin and wont last long. I bought my hutch (2 storey rabbit shack) second hand for £50 and it is great. A second hand one wont be a problem if it is in good condition and you disinfect it (see http://www.sphsupplies.co.uk/) for proper disinfectants that kill nearly all viruses etc. You will need some anyway to keep the hutch clean :)
For two piggies make sure you can get the biggest one possible as they will be spending a lot of time in it, the two storeys are a good idea as they can snuggle upstairs for more warmth ;)
 
P@H have some fab cages like sage house and Thistle Hall but there are some rubbish plywood creations too. You can generally tell by looking at them what the quality is and when I built my Thistle Hall the instructions were clear and it was done in no time.

If your pigs are going outside I think you're suppose to have one that is off the ground a couple of inches.
 
Thanks guys and gals O0 i bought one off ebay it has two floors and the measure ments are as follows in inches:

It looks massive and i should have it in about fiv days from now so then we can get everything reddy for my new piggie friends ;)

I'm glad i bought a big one (it has a run withs it which looks good i forgot to get measurements for that) i wanted to convince my parents that the piggie first was most important :)
