Well I went to p@h and I'm glad to say that they no longer keep pigs and the buns together :D Also they now have an adoption area O0 I think this is a great improvement, although now I think its time to hint to get bigger hamster cages, they are quite small especially since they have upto 5 in a tank ::) But atleast its slowly improving :D

That great Kel both of my local stores have improved. Prefer St Helens though but overall they are listening to what we want. :)

Exactly, they will always sell pets but atleast the conditions are improving :)

i got my 2 piggies from P@H 6 weeks ago. The conditions for the rabbits and GPs were lovely. But as someone has said, cages for the smaller animals were small. Am not overly impressed though, cos one of the 2 girls they sold me is pregnant!

Ours has improved loads too, I have to say I am impressed with the adoption area...good on them O0

Get straight back in touch with them about the pregnant sow - they'll help with costs.

glad to hear this especially as glynis hinted they are comming to australia :o :o :o wish our fodder store would listen as they still keep piggies and bunnies together and let kids handled the animals :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: lets hope they continue to improve for the animals sake. O0

i would definatly go straight back and ask for new cage or at least ask for vets costs if needed. :)

I also got to p@h in st.Helen's quite a lot.On one occasion I butted in explaining that piggies should really be kept in pairs not singly as they get lonely. & the indoor cage they were selling wasn't big enough ,it was OK for a baby but certainly not big enough for 2 fully grown Piggy's....I bet the staff now run for cover when I go in. (here's that mad woman again)Altough their profit margins go up if they sell 2 piggies instead of 1 & larger cages !

Yes I noticed that they had improved the one in Cardiff - piggies are kept away from the bunnies and have the adoption centre too, last week were 2 piggies, but this week they were gone - yes shame about the hamster cages, but at least they have started improving themselves!

on the subject of your piggy pregnant - we had this problem told us ours was a boy and turned out to be a girl - they tried to get us to take mother in while pregnant, but we said no - they gave us a free cage, stand, hay and other stuff and if I remember right we came out of there with around £90 worth of stuff, so say something to them.
